Attending university in Canada, he earned a degree in Commerce from Sir George Williams University (Concordia) in 1972. He spent three years at a large Transportation Company mainly in sales and as the Manager of International Marketing Research and Development, prior to launching his successful career as an Investment Advisor in 1975 when he joined Pitfield Mackay Ross (PMR). Henry had accumulated over twenty years of investment knowledge, education, and experience at both PMR and Nesbitt Burns before joining TD Evergreen in 1996, which became TD Waterhouse Private Investment Advice in 2002. His experience includes his involvement in nearly every investment vehicle available to the investing public: stocks, bonds, commodities, futures, currency options, options, derivatives, money market instruments and mutual funds. Henry strongly believes that when it comes to the investing public, "the more they know and understand, the more comfortable and better investors they become, and the more they invest." He is very much a believer in an asset allocation approach to investing, and most of the portfolios and money he helps his clients manage is their retirement money. To him every client is unique, and this uniqueness has to be taken into account and monitored when formulating strategy. There is no one right strategy and investing style that is appropriate for everyone. They all have different personalities, risk profiles, preferences, constraints, resources, and objectives. Henry is a continual student of the market to help improve his services to his clients. He has completed advanced investment programs through the Canadian Securities Institute, earning him the FCSI (Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute) designation in 1982, and the CIM (Certified Investment Manager) designation with honours in 1992. Besides being an Investment Advisor, he is also an Associate Portfolio Manager, as well a Life Insurance Advisor with TD Waterhouse Insurance Services Inc. Henry has over the years increasingly proved very effective at combining some of his self-developed fundamental screening techniques and technical analysis skills with available top research. Henry is a Past-President of the Canadian Society of Technical Analysts and a member of the Market Technicians Association (MTA). He is a holder of the Chartered Market Technician (CMT) designation. |
